YOUR QUESTIONS, OUR ANSWERS

What makes Sure Rails different from other railing companies?

Our biggest difference is durability.

Sure Rails uses thicker, stronger aluminum material than many standard railing providers, creating a more resilient product that stands up better to heavy use, weather, and long-term wear. This is one of the main reasons we’ve consistently secured hotel and large-scale commercial projects. Marek specifically notes that their railings are “stronger because they’re thicker material,” making them less susceptible to damage over time.

We also manufacture, powder coat, and deliver locally in the Chicago area, which means faster turnaround, reduced shipping risk, and better service for local contractors and developers.

What materials are your railings made from?

Our railing systems are built using high-grade extruded aluminum, primarily 6061 and 6063 T6 aluminum, known for strength, durability, and long-term corrosion resistance.

This is considered one of the strongest grades of aluminum available for railing applications and performs especially well in harsh Midwest weather conditions including snow, rain, and salt exposure.

Why does aluminum outperform wood or standard steel railings?

Longevity and maintenance.

Wood railings require constant upkeep—painting, sealing, and eventual replacement due to warping, cracking, and weather damage. Steel can become vulnerable to corrosion over time, especially in high-moisture environments.

Our powder-coated aluminum railings are built to last 20–25 years or more, with significantly less maintenance and better resistance to salt, moisture, and seasonal weather changes. Marek emphasizes that in Chicago’s climate, resistance to winter salt and corrosion is a major advantage.

What does “made-to-order” actually mean?

It means your railing system is built specifically for your project—not pulled off a shelf.

Unlike standard big-box railing kits that come in fixed sizes, our systems are built to match your actual dimensions and installation needs.

We manufacture railings in lengths from 6 feet up to 16 feet, allowing contractors to order smarter, reduce waste, and simplify installation. Instead of buying multiple standard kits and extra parts, your project gets exactly what it needs .

Do you install the railings too?

Yes—installation is a major part of what we do.

In fact, Marek estimates that 95–97% of all railings built have been installed directly by his team.

This creates better project control, smoother timelines, and fewer issues since the same team manufacturing the product is also handling the installation.

Our install team scales depending on project size and includes both full-time crew members and trusted subcontractors who have worked with these systems for years.

Are your railing systems ADA compliant?

Yes.

ADA compliance is one of the most common questions we receive, especially for hotels, multifamily properties, and commercial spaces.

We regularly install ADA-compliant handrails, stair railings, pool enclosures, walkways, and safety rail systems. Requirements such as handrail height, number of rails, and spacing are reviewed during quoting to ensure compliance with your specific project needs.

What types of projects do you work on?

We primarily work with:

  • Hotels
  • Apartment complexes
  • Multifamily developments
  • Townhome communities
  • Pool enclosures
  • Exterior stairwells
  • Walkways
  • Balcony railings
  • ADA access systems
  • Commercial decks and patios

We also work with developers, general contractors, property managers, and hospitality groups throughout the Chicago area and beyond.

How do I get a quote?

Most projects start one of two ways:

New Construction

If you have blueprints, we can usually provide a quote directly from plans. We perform a full takeoff from your drawings and provide a detailed estimate based on project scope, layout, and requirements.

Remodels or Existing Properties

For remodels, we may start with photos or rough drawings to provide a preliminary estimate. Once the project moves forward, we’ll visit the site to finalize measurements and details before installation.

This allows us to move quickly while still ensuring accuracy.

Do you offer warranties?

Yes—we stand behind our product quality.

Warranty terms vary depending on the project and application, but our focus is primarily on product performance, powder coating quality, and long-term durability.

Because every project is different, warranty details are discussed during quoting and included as part of your project scope.

Why is local manufacturing important?

Because shipping railings is expensive—and risky.

Railings may not weigh much, but they take up a lot of space and can easily be damaged during long-distance transit.

Since we manufacture, powder coat, and deliver locally in Chicago, clients benefit from:

  • Faster turnaround
  • Reduced freight costs
  • Less damage risk
  • Better communication
  • Easier scheduling
  • Faster issue resolution

This is a major advantage over ordering from out-of-state suppliers.

Can you handle large commercial projects?

Absolutely.

We’ve completed 30–40+ hotel projects, with some single hotels requiring 2,000–3,000+ linear feet of railing.

Large-scale commercial work is where our system performs best.

Whether it’s balconies, pool areas, stair towers, or full exterior access systems, we’re built for high-volume projects that require reliability, speed, and long-term performance.

Still Have Questions?

Every project is different.

If you’re planning a hotel renovation, multifamily development, pool enclosure, or commercial railing project, we’d be happy to review your plans and provide guidance.
